Coaching Positions

Job Opportunity: Crew Coach

Glastonbury High School – Varsity Girl’s Crew Coach

Glastonbury High School has a 20-year-old, highly developed rowing program with a stellar record of achievement in the CT Public School Rowing Association (CPSRA), racing primarily in eights. The team is strongly supported by the Glastonbury School District and the Friends of Glastonbury Rowing, Inc.  Excellent equipment is available in all boat classes as well as a $4.7 million dollar Boathouse facility including a weight training/ERG room. The Program practices on the CT River, an excellent venue for practicing and racing with a straight 6 lane 1500m course and virtually unlimited areas on the river for conducting practices.

The coach would be working with Head Boy's Coach Steve Somosky as well as the two assistant Girl’s coaches. The full complement of coaches totals six, including a land training coach in the spring. Responsibilities would include indoor training, scheduling and setting up regattas, creating training programs, coaching a full regatta season, etc.

This is an excellent opportunity for a coach to move to a highly successful and well-developed and well supported youth rowing program.
